The summary of the IX “Foreign Real Estate Showroom”
The IX “Foreign Real Estate Showroom” was held in
St. Petersburg, March 26-28. 116 participating companies presented to visitors
their offers in more than 40 countries. The last Showroom again confirmed that
Russia remains one of the most attractive and promising market for sellers of
foreign real estate.
The survey of the exhibitors, conducted by
research company Infowave, showed that foreign real estate stably is in demand
among Russians and only increases from year to year. It is associated with a
high cost of the St. Petersburg’s realty and the lack of sun in the Northern
Capital and the desire to invest in a promising market of foreign real estate.
In search of better
Interviewed representatives of the companies
agreed that the spring 2010 is the best time to purchase property abroad and
therefore prepared the most advantageous offers for visitors. Thus, residential
and commercial real estate of nearly any taste and purse were presented at the
exhibition. A composition and a search of visitors were varied: they were
wealthy people and married couples with middle-incomes, who were interested in
options "for relaxation" or "for future", pensioners and students who were
interested in immigration programs related to the purchase of real estate.
Everyone could find something for themselves: from cheap apartments in Bulgaria
and Greece to the home premium in France and Switzerland.

Visitors of the exhibition - about 7,5 thousand
people – mainly focused their attention on the resort property on the coasts.
The Spring Showroom included all the most popular destinations. Thus, real
estate in Spain and Portugal was represented at 18 stands, Italy and France -
20, Cyprus and Greece - 19, Turkey - 6, Croatia and Montenegro - at 12 stands.
And, of course, the most popular trend in the past years – Bulgaria – was
represented by 30 companies. This year a steady interest in real estate in
Bulgaria was fueled by the planned entry of Bulgaria into the Schengen zone in
2011, which makes resident status particularly attractive by its easy access for
buyers of Bulgarian property. Learn more about what opportunities are available

at the seminars. Every day during the exhibition there were discussed all
aspects of transactions in various parts of the world: from Finland to the
Caribbean islands.

While the main part of visitors was looking for
real estate on the coasts, a smaller but more active group of investors was
seeking for other proposals. If the resort real estate for the crisis year has
lost in costs in average 15-20%, then the urban property has lost only 7-8%. The
same ratings of the least affected market, where countries of Central and
Northern Europe are dominated. This fact explains the interest of investors, who
switched from a resort to the urban real estate in Europe, primarily in
countries such as Czech Republic, Germany, France, Finland. Incidentally, the
number of companies that offered Finnish real estate in this time significantly
had increased up to 10.
The visitors also showed attention to new
proposals of the exhibition: mortgaging real estate in Spain, shared ownership
realty in Italy, timeshare apartments in Finland.

An original navigator for those who were looking
for the most favorable terms of purchase became the "Gallery of Special offers"
- information about a variety of bonuses and discounts in effect during the
exhibition. All "Gallery’s” offers presented by the participants of the IX
Showroom were seen on the exhibition site www.y-expo.ru, and the most
interesting offers - in a specialized magazine "Vash Dom za Rubezhom” and in a
leading business edition in St.Petersburg - newspaper “Delovoy Peterburg” ".

According to the survey, conducted by research
company Infowave, exhibitors were satisfied with the organization of the IX
Foreign Real Estate Showroom. Representatives of the companies noted powerful
information support of the exhibition, which gave the results in a large number
of visitors.
The permanent exhibitors of the Showroom explained
their commitment to the exhibition by its high popularity, both among
"colleagues-competitors" and among citizens. Many foreign companies, who are new
entrants into the Russian market, elected as the primary means of their
promotion the participation in the Showroom, referring to the positive feedback
from their colleagues in business.
Most of the exhibitors are confident in the
effectiveness of participation in exhibitions like the Foreign Real Estate
Showroom, where you can find not only customers, but even new partners. They
believe that this exhibition is the most successful as a way to promote your
